The Laboratorio di Linguistica “Giovanni Nencioni”, named after its initiator, was founded in the late Seventies with the primary aim of supporting equipment-based phonetic research. Very soon, however, the range of interests has widened to include psycholinguistics, computational linguistics, neurolinguistics and field-work. The integration of different research lines yields, as dictated by the SNS tradition, fruitful interactions among teachers, students, technicians and visiting scholars. The lab’s facilities have been adapted (resources permitting...) to these changing and increasing needs. In addition, collaborations have been established with specialized centers,
willing to share their equipment and know-how with the lab’s scholars.
