DATA-BASES & CORPORA
It is common opinion that the Pisa Tower leans. It depends, however, on
the point of observation. There happen to exist exactly two points of
observation disconfirming this widespread idea. In this laboratory, we
compare different points of view without preconceptions.
The Laboratorio di Linguistica “Giovanni Nencioni”, named after its initiator, was founded in the late Seventies and existed until the end of 2015. From 1981 onwards it was directed by Pier Marco Bertinetto. It focused on experimental studies in phonetics/phonology, psycholinguistics, neuropragmatics, computational linguistics, and was the nest of broadly-conceived linguistic investigation, including formal syntax and fieldwork research. It established fruitful collaborations with well-known international centers.
The legacy of Laboratorio di Linguistica is currently being continued by ELiTe (Experimental Linguistics Team) within the SMART Laboratory.
